The name DJ Goofy Whitekid is synonymous with the hottest party in the city. As the official DJ of 96.1 Kiss from 2004 to 2008, he and Bonics made up what go Magazine called "Pittsburgh's top deejay tandem," and was recently voted the 2nd best club DJ in Pittsburgh by the readers of Pittsburgh CityPaper. His resume is essentially a list of the best of the best in Northeast nightlife, and includes major concert venues, tour dates, and even major sporting events.
Now, DJ Goofy Whitekid is taking a whole new challenge: the world famous 93.3 FLZ in Tampa, Florida. As a resident mixer for FLZ, he's among a team of elite dancefloor destroyers, appearing nightly on the 7 O'Clock Hit Mix with Ratboy & Staypuff, in the clubs for live-to-air Club 933 broadcasts, and even going old-school as part of the station's Rewind Sunday.
In the clubs, he throws down whatever seems to be the hottest tracks of the minute, from hip-hop to trance, from reggae to breaks, from old-school to house, with a splash of showmanship and even a few surprises that only a truly goofy whitekid could pull off.
Those that have had the opportunity to hear him outside radio stations (maybe through his "Stuff I Can't Play On The Radio" mix CD series) also know that he has been rocking crowds from Philadelphia to Baltimore long before his journey south, with a trademark high-energy house/trance sound and that same flair of showmanship that truly can't be emulated.
DJ Goofy Whitekid celebrated 12 years behind the decks in 2008, and has played alongside names like Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, LL Cool J, All-American Rejects, Cassie, Flo-Rida, 311, DJ Sizzahandz, DJ Micro, Ferry Corsten, and the world champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to his 4 year stint in Pittsburgh, DJ Goofy Whitekid appeared on radio stations and in nightclubs in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and State College, PA. He was also a yearly resident DJ for the Otakon convention series in Baltimore, MD, and was heard internationally on 51 radio stations on New Year's Eve 2007, as part of the team behind the syndicated NYEmix2008.
He's originally from Harrisburg, PA, and has something like three classes left at Penn State University. He might actually take them someday.
And about the name? Well, just take a look at him.
