RECAP: Schaeffer Crawfish Boil 2012 in Birmingham AL

Had a blastyblast at the Schaeffer Crawfish Boil 2012 in Birmingham AL! Got to hang out with The Ace & TJ Show and my friends at my affiliate 103.7 The Q, got some good southern eatin, and got to play for 30,000 people!

Friday highlights were Childish Gambino (who btw is allergic like me!), Jane's Addiction, and chicken on a stick! I also got to see some of the city after I lost my keys, haha...

Saturday was insane: Megadeth, Lupe Fiasco, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa! It was great to catch up again with the homie DJ Bonics and see Justin Bieber's Guile hair at the Mayweather fight with him... if you would've told me 5 years ago that there'd be 20,000 people in Alabama chanting "TAYLOR...GANG..." I'd have said you were high... now it's reality! The afterparty at Aqua Birmingham was silly packed (they have a VIP boat!), and even playing on CDJs I had fun. Add some Dreamland BBQ on Sunday morning and it was a wrap.

MCA wasn't just a hip-hop pioneer for white kids. MCA also put a LOT of people on when they blew up. He and the Beastie Boys were responsible for a lot of hip-hop's history, if you really trace it back. Thank you Adam.

This is the Beastie Boys performing on Chappelle's Show's third season (which, you'll remember, Dave Chappelle quit before it started). MCA is on point here, and so is Mix Master Mike for that matter...
